I hope you everyone had a wonderful weekend. Today, Françoise is giving us her insights on the holiday season celebrated in her home in Sarreguemines. Françoise and I celebrated St Nick together when we were little - and today I am eager to hear how she celebrates with her husband and her 2 sons!
My name is Françoise. I’m born in Luxembourg, travelled a lot, lived in France, Canada, Germany and now finally settled down in France with my husband Xavier and my two sons Antoine and Louis. Let’s see for how long !
Tell me about your personal BEST-OF the Holiday season?
Even though I love design, DIY, sewing and painting, I don’t have the patience or the time to do it myself. So I watch others and enjoy.
What I love is cooking ! For the holidays, I prepare in advance and enjoy cooking with my boys ! It is real quality time spent together. Have you ever heard about blueberry bread in a flower pot?
How do you celebrate the holidays?
Very quietly in general. As quiet as it can be with two kids !
Any major differences between celebrating in France or Luxembourg?
Well I miss Santa Claus on december 6th. So we decided to keep the tradition alive even though it is not really a celebration in France.
One week in advance we start putting out the slippers. Santa comes every night, checking if your little ones were good over the day. If so, he leaves a little something, like chocolat or a small toy. By the way, this is a perfect way to negociate doubtful behaviour your 3-5 year old might have, without being the mean one ;)
Do you create any new traditions with your partner and kids?
No not really, since we are kids at heart, we try to keep them alive as long as possible !
Do you plan any kids specials for the holidays ?
Playing, playing, playing !
May I have a sneak preview of your decoration ?
This year is all white !
What do your kids wish for from Santa ?
Antoine is all into astronautes and space. Where does the sun go to sleep ? Why can’t I go on a cloud ? I want a rocket !
Louis wants what his Brother is getting, so he gets a marble run :D
... and what do YOU wish for ?
For everyone smiling again in 2014 ! My husband has been away for work for 4 months. He’ll be back for the holidays. Spending family time together is my biggest wish this year.
Thank you so much Françoise for this lovely interview! Happy holidays to you and your reunited family! Enjoy!
