We are off to Saint Louis this weekend, to discover a bit of the north of Senegal! I will tell you more next week! Happy Eastern everyone - enjoy your long weekend!

Early December, we met with friends at an adventure center in the midst of baobab trees - Espace Accro Baobap near Somone! It was my first time outside of Dakar and my first time seeing a baobab tree - good times!
Unfortunately, with my belly I was not allowed much at the adventure park - hopefully we will be back soon!
Léonore had a blast! (Simba included - the school mascot - adopted for that weekend)
Isn't this multifunctional Roll from Utzen Kids fantastic? It can be a chair, a mattress or a lounger - up to you or your kids imagination! Those Danes are good when it comes to design!
Or is it just me and I am nostalgic for my old Lao triangle mattress? Tell me!
The last 2 weeks we have been struggling with heat and colds due to the AC, settling in school/work and finding a house or apartment for the next 2 years while getting used to Dakar's usuals - no water and when there is water, electricity goes out !
Nevertheless, these days in Dakar we are enjoying especially being so close to the ocean and jumping on mama's bed. I might have found the perfect combination for her/our favourite activities : the AQUA JUMP water trampoline!
It is way out of my price range but just imagine how much fun one could have - especially our little crazy fish these days!
Look what I found... on the internet!
They call it the "Spielkissenhaus" from Nestrocker - a house made up of five modular square mattresses and one door-element. Through Velcro connections, you can build your hide-away or dream house as you wish.
The Spielkissenhaus comes in three color combinations, but honestly is bit pricey. Nevertheless, i like the concept a lot. Build a castle or lay the mattresses flat on the floor for gymnastics or sleep-overs - a truly multipurpose MINIHOUSE!
(Please note that I am not sponsored in any way, I just like to share what intrigues me as architect, designer and mother.)
I have been avoiding this post for quite some time and I think I am finally ready to write it.
For the last 3 months, we are waiting to leave Rome and move to Dakar, Senegal. My husband is switching work station and we plan to move out to Africa for the next few years. After Laos and Rome, we were wishing for an african experience and we got it... or will get it.
For now we are stuck in Rome... well there are worse places to be "stuck" in! To be honest Matthieu and I have been on a roman vacation for the last few months. Léonore has been spoiled with family play time every day - and our daily strolls or bike rides usually start or end with a gelato!
Additionally, I have been working on some very exciting projects - for and with highly creative people and I cannot wait to share them with you here on MINITECTURE. Please stay tuned for more!
For the weekend, I will leave you with this MINITECTURE-toy - perfect for little world travellers and big architecture lovers : the Mitoi series!
"I would like children to learn the relation between colors and form and to learn something about their urban landscape and the buildings closest to them”, said Marc Castelló, founder and designer of Mitoi.
Mitoi has launched two collections of colourful building blocks: Miworld and Miciti.
